Project: Digital Literacy Labs for Refugees

"Empowering displaced communities through digital education and inclusion."

"Every human being deserves access to knowledge and opportunity.
By bridging the digital divide, we help refugees rebuild their lives, gain independence, and connect to the world of tomorrow."

The Challenge

The Digital Divide is a Human Rights Issue

Millions of refugees and displaced people face exclusion from education and the modern economy.

Without access to digital tools, they remain isolated, unable to gain skills, communicate with loved ones, or participate in their host societies.

This deepens inequality, perpetuates cycles of poverty, and violates the principles of human dignity enshrined in the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.

Only 22% of refugees have access to digital education in their first year of displacement.

Access to Digital Education

“Only 22% of refugees have access to digital education in their first year of displacement.”

Our Approach

SDH partners with NGOs, governments, and forward-thinking businesses to create Digital Literacy Labs: safe, fully equipped spaces where refugees gain essential digital skills.

These labs combine AI-powered educational tools with human mentorship. Participants receive certifications that open doors to employment, entrepreneurship, and continued education.

The Labs will provide:

  • Hardware and connectivity.

  • AI-driven, language-inclusive learning platforms.

  • Training by volunteers and local educators.

  • Certification for employment pathways.
